publication ethics

Publication requirements

In order to move forward conveniently and without delay, we ask authors submitting their papers to meet the needed conditions for publication. Kindly ensure that your article complies with the following rules before submitting it.

  • The manuscript should be submitted by authors in Microsoft Word format.

  • A cover letter ought to be included with the article. The information about the cover letter is described below.

  • The article should be written in Times New Roman font style, 12 point font size, and one column. Please use the simplest feasible text layout.

  • It is recommended that formulas and equations be legible, ideally composed with equation editing software such as Math Type.

  • Every figure that is supplied ought to have a high resolution, ideally in the form of a .tiff file with a minimum of 300 dpi. The MLA referencing style should be followed for references.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

The author should review the following checklist before submitting the article:

  • Cover letter:  The corresponding author is asked to compose a cover letter outlining the manuscript’s suitability for publication. The cover letter should state that the article has not been published elsewhere or shared for the benefit of any other publication other than SAODS and should include the signatures of all authors. In the event that the article’s author is a student, it is requested that, before submitting the piece, the student obtain departmental approval.

  • Title:  The title ought to be precise and appropriate for the article’s subject matter. Don’t abbreviate the title and type it in title case (capitalize every word except conjunctions, prepositions, and articles). Every botanical or species name ought to be italicized.

  • Author Names and Affliations:  Kindly include the full names of each author. An asterisk (*) should be used to indicate the name of the corresponding author. Kindly furnish the name, affiliation, email, phone number, and fax number of the relevant author as well (Provide the Department, University/Organization, City, State, and Country for each author in the affiliation details)

  • Abstract:  The abstract, which serves as the article’s introduction, should not be more than 350 words. It should include a brief synopsis of the major points. If possible, refrain from utilizing acronyms and do not include any sources.

  • Keywords:  In order to facilitate indexing, authors are asked to submit a minimum of four to six keywords.

  • Abbrevations:  Under the header, each abbreviation should be defined.

  • Headings:  For easy comprehension, we ask that authors number their headers and offer relevant headings for the text.

  • Units and Symbols:  Utilize the International System of Units (SI Units) and use the appropriate symbols when referring to alpha (α), beta (β), mu (µ), pi (Ï€), and other terms.

  • Figures:  300 dpi is the ideal resolution for all of the high-quality .tiff figures that are provided. Every figure must have a citation within the text, and authors must specify exactly where the figures belong. At the conclusion of the article, figure captions must be provided in a consecutive manner. If you do not possess a copyright holder’s express written permission to publish under the CCAL, then please do not submit any previously copyrighted figures.

  • Tables:  At the conclusion of the article, include all tables in the text with relevant captions.

  • Acknowledgements:  This section should include a list of individuals who made contributions to the work but are not authors. The authors are responsible for making sure that no one objected to their name being included in the acknowledgements section of that specific article.

  • References:  For your manuscript, kindly cite only works that have been published. At the conclusion of the text, authors are asked to include a sequential list of references.

  • Copyrights:  A Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License covers the content of SAODS. We grant the corresponding author the authority to make any required revisions, and in that capacity, he or she will guarantee the manuscript on our behalf. All users of SAODS are granted access to published content and are encouraged to use it for any reasonable, non-commercial purpose, provided that proper attribution of authorship and ownership of the rights is given.
