Biography: Dr. Jingyuan Fan is a Board-certified Specialist in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery. She is currently a Clinical Associate Professor on the faculty of Midwestern University. She is interested in diagnosing and managing periodontal disease, treating gingival recession and placing dental implants. Dr. Fan received her Advanced Specialty Training in Periodontics at Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester and earned a Ph.D. in Oral Biology from School of Dentistry, University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Midwestern University, she was an Assistant Professor of Periodontics at University of Rochester. She has published and presented numerous articles and is also a reviewer for academic journals. She had been recognized with several awards, scholarships and honors through her clinical and academic career.
Research Interest: Jingyuan Fan’s research interests include immunobiology of periodontal diseases, impact of periodontal diseases on systemic health, periodontal regeneration, treatment and prevention of peri-implant diseases, and interdisciplinary therapy.

Research Interest: Her line of research essentially covers aspects of current Pediatric Dentistry. The fields of application are mainly focused on epidemiology and characterization of the population genetic structure of S. mutans strains and their relationship with dental caries. The analytical study, in which the results are interpreted on a local scale, provides information in a globalized context in which certain strains of S. mutans have increased exponentially their frequency. The lack of significant genetic differentiation would be influenced by the social, cultural and political exchanges that have occurred globally.

Prior to their doctoral studies, Dr. Aliaa Mahrous completed a Master’s degree in Fixed Prosthodontics at Cairo University from 2006 to 2009 and Bachelor’s degree in Dental Medicine & Surgery at Cairo University, achieving an outstanding academic record with a grade of Very Good 2003. EMERITUS.U.Of A.ca;CHANCELLOR ICCMO.. Norman Thomas graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery with the Dental Gold Medal and L.E Attenborough Medal in 1957. He was awarded a Nuffield Fellowship (Oxford) to complete an Honors degree in medical sciences in 1960. Between 1960 and 1974 he pursued clinical and research residency programs and lectureships at University of Bristol and Royal Infirmary, The Royal College of Surgeons of England (Medical Research Council UK.), Medical College of Virginia and University of Alberta where he is now Professor Emeritus. From 1970 t0 2002, Dr Thomas served on the Medical Research Council Canada, the National Council of Health, USA and Canadian Dental Association, gaining Certificate of Merit from the latter and several Fellowships in medical sciences and dentistry. He is Life member of the Alberta Dental Association and retired from practice in 2021. In 1998 he was appointed Chancellor of the International College of Craniocervical Orthopedics which he continues to hold to the present. In that capacity he has lectured in USA, Europe, Australia and Asia. He was awarded PhD degree in Oral Medicine and Pathology for research on the process and mechanism of tooth eruption. He was appointed as Professor and Research Advisor at the University of Nevada and Las Legas Institute of Advanced Dental studies since 2002.
Research Interest: His present interest is in Oral Carcinogenisis.
