Introduction:The orthodontist is in a strategic position to screen for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAHS), and the use of a questionnaire is recommended to better understand the presence of signs and symptoms suggestive (snoring, awakenings and breathing pauses, daytime sleepiness). The PSQ-SRBD was the most accurate and reliable questionnaire used by dental surgeons.
Materials and Methods:We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study on a representative sample of the pediatric population of Blida (310 children) who attended the Ahmed ZABANA dental clinic. Our study spanned six weeks from January 2019 to February 2019. We used CHERVIN’s PSQ-SRBD. The SRBD scale is a questionnaire administered to parents of children aged 2 to 18. It is made up of 22 items that investigate the frequency and severity of snoring during sleep, the presence of apnea during sleep, daytime sleepiness, disturbance in attention, hyperactivity and other symptoms related to SAHOS.
Results:The PSQ-SRBD score reveals that 21% of the children surveyed are suspected of having OSAHS. In our sample, the suspected OSAHS is concentrated in children between 6 and 13 years old. More than (90% of children) suspected of OSAHS have the following characteristics: mouth breathing, daytime sleepiness and disturbed attention and hyperactivity. Snoring is represented at 71% and breathing difficulties at 88%.
Discussion:The prevalence of skeletal class III in our clinic between 2015/2016 was 8.37%, while in 2017 it was 5.56% despite the fact that the population retained in 2017 was larger. This inconsistency is most likely related to the extent of the field taken in 2017, which results in a reduced percentage of unhealthy cases. Among other things, the prevalence of skeletal class III experienced a quantifiable decrease between 2015 and 2017.
Conclusion:OSAHS in children is multifactorial in origin, but the most common cause is enlarged tonsils and adenoids. The OSAHS treatment of choice in children is based on adeno-tonsillectomy surgery, which can be treated effectively. It will have the effects of lowering respiratory resistance, harmonizing facial growth and improving behavioral and cognitive disorders.

Review of the process and mechanism of tooth eruption defines active eruption as coronal migration of the tooth to the functional occlusal position in the oral cavity while passive eruption occurs by loss of epithelial attachment to expose the clinical crown. Rodent teeth are considered excellent analogs of eruption because they have examples of limited and continuous eruption in the molar teeth and incisors respectively. Root resection studies on rat incisors exhibit normal active eruption rates due to a ‘force’ in the retained periodontal ligament (PDL). Since all four walls of the tooth and bone remain patent it confirms that the periodontium alone is the prime mover of eruption. Impeded and unimpeded eruption rates were grossly retarded when a collagen crosslinking inhibitor lathyrogen 0.3% AAN (aminoacetonitrile) was added to the drinking water of young 45 – 50 gm rats. Using the Bryer 1957 method of measurement of eruption it appeared that low concentrations (0.01%) lathyrogen in the drinking water of adult rats did not have significant retardation of unimpeded eruption rates. Histological, radiological, bone and tooth marker studies indicate that intrusion and dilaceration of the reference molar and incisor decreases impeded eruption in the lathyritic condition giving a false impression of increased unimpeded eruption. Fixed metallic reference in the alveolar bone shows that even low dose of lathyrogen retards impeded and unimpeded eruption rates. It is now clear from high voltage and conventional transmission electron microscopy that collagen assembly in vivo is a linear and lateral aggregation with crosslinking of collagen segments occurring in a variety of species which increases isometric contraction/stiffening of the extracellular matrix. Given that lathyrogen reduces intramolecular and intermolecular crosslinks it is concluded that collagen maturation plays a prime role in tooth support and eruption. The physical state of the strain stiffening of aligned isometric collagenous substrate is essential to cell differentiation in the cell-extracellular matrix contraction. Thus, this study of eruption demonstrates that its an excellent study for cell differentiation and migration.

Mucocele is a benign lesion that affects smaller salivary glands of the oral cavity, frequently observed in dental clinic, and may affect children patients. The main etiological factor is mechanical trauma. Several treatment modalities can be employed, with variable degree of success and management. However, surgical removal is the most recommended technique. When there is no collaboration of the patients, the treatment with general anesthesia can be performed in a surgical suite. The purpose of this article is to present the case of a labial mucocele, affecting a 1 year old child, with no condition to attend her due to lack of collaboration, whose lesion was removed through surgical excision under general anesthesia in the surgical suite. .

Lipomas are benign neoplasms of the adipose mesenchymal tissue, relatively rare in the oral cavity, and may affect other parts of the body such as the chest, limbs and axillas. There is a greater predilection in adult individuals, and they are extremely uncommon in childhood. The clinical features of this lesion, such as mobility to palpation, floating and soft consistency, yellowish coloration and slow growth with absent symptoms, usually facilitate the diagnosis. It presents several histopathological variables, but without changing the prognosis. The purpose of this article is to report a case of a patient who presented a large lesion in the vestibular mucosa near the mental foramen, causing paresthesia, facial edema and mild aesthetic impairment, surgically removed and diagnosed as lipoma. The intraoral access preserved the integrity of the associated anatomical structures and facial aesthetics. .
